Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine has come out to reveal that after he was shot by police officers on Tuesday President Yoweri Museveni’s men did not stop hunting him. After learning that he had been admitted in hospital, they followed him there and caused a lot of commotion.
According to Bobi Wine, the police officers stormed the Nsambya hospital where he was admitted and harassed doctors that were attending to him. They demanded that they be given his medical records. The police officers also tried to access his hospital room but his supporters could not allow it.
On top of harassing doctors at the hospital, Bobi Wine says the police blocked all roads leading to the hospital endangering the lives of patients that were being admitted.
“As you may already be aware by now, following yesterday’s brutal attack by the Police, I was admitted to Nsambya Hospital for treatment. Once the regime learned of my admission, security operatives came to the hospital and harrased the doctors treating me, demanding for details of my medical records. They also made several attempts to forcefully access my treatment room but were held off by our vigilant comrades. As if that wasn’t enough, they also blocked all roads leading to the hospital, thereby disrupting hospital traffic flow and endangering more lives.” Bobi Wine said in a post on his X page.
Following this incident at the hospital, Bobi Wine has decided to leave the hospital and go to his home from where he will be attended by medical practitioners. He said that this was to allow medical operations to return to normalcy at the Nsambya hospital.
This incident emphasizes the amount of dictatorship that is in Uganda. The ruling government under president Yoweri Museveni has declined other people the right to practice their political rights and anyone that opposes him is treated with ruthlessness. What do you have to say about this revelation.
