Museveni Reveals Shocking Reasons Why He Doesn’t Drink Alcohol, Mocks Youth Who Take It

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has questioned about the widespread consumption of alcohol in Uganda.In a post shared on the X handle of State House Uganda, the president shared a personal experience from his youth.

He recounted about a time when he accompanied friends to a bar in Mbarara, where he was encouraged to try beer for the first time.

Museveni has described the taste as “bitter like mululuza (bitter leaf). The president shared his confusion about why people find beer enjoyable.

“I have never known why people drink alcohol, one time we went to a bar in Mbarara, and one of my friends said I should try, I tried beer, beer is so bitter, that beer was like mululuza (bitter leaf), I wondered but my friend said i will know the sweetness later,” the post on State House Uganda on X stated.

This statement aligns with Museveni’s long-standing stance on health and discipline, as he has previously discouraged excessive alcohol consumption among Ugandans.
