Fred Nyanzi, Bobi Wine’s Elder Brother Graduates With Master’s Degree From Makerere

Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu, elder brother to the renowned Bobi Wine, Robert Kyagulanyi, recently achieved a significant milestone in his academic pursuit, obtaining a master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Makerere University. His graduation, amidst the bustling ambiance of Makerere University’s commencement week, which kicked off on January 29th, 2024, shines as a testament to his steadfast commitment to enhancing his expertise in peacebuilding and conflict resolution.

Apart from his scholarly endeavors, Nyanzi Fred plays a pivotal role in Uganda’s political arena, holding the position of Head of Mobilization for the National Unity Platform (NUP). In a heartfelt update on Facebook, Nyanzi expressed that the heavy rainfall earlier in the day symbolized blessings upon his graduation, extending his gratitude to all who supported him and attributing his success to divine providence.Although Nyanzi Fred’s attempt to secure the Member of Parliament seat for Kampala Central in the 2021 general elections did not materialize, his academic triumph underscores resilience and an enduring dedication to lifelong learning.

Affectionately known as Chairman Nyanzi, he wears multiple hats as a Ugandan politician, entrepreneur, businessman, and leader in the informal sector within the National Unity Platform (NUP).With past roles as chairman LC 1 and LC 2 of Kamwokya division, Nyanzi’s outstanding leadership qualities earned him the nickname “Chairman Wattu.”

He shares a fraternal bond with Eddy Yawe, another prominent figure in Uganda’s music scene, and Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Kyadondo East. Nyanzi Fred nurtures aspirations of representing Kampala Central in Parliament under the banner of the National Unity Platform.
