VIDEO!! Angry Woman Filmed Slapping Traffic Police Officer In Kampala Arrested , Details Emerge As Court Awaits Her

On 18th October 2024, at around 11:55 AM, a traffic police officer from Jinja Road Police Station had an encounter with a white Toyota Land Cruiser, registration number UBM 439T. The vehicle was being driven by Mercy Timbitiwire Bashisha, who was allegedly involved in a traffic accident.

The officer signalled for her to stop, but she reportedly ignored him and continued driving while using her phone.After catching up with her at the Lugogo Traffic Lights, she parked her vehicle at the Uganda Manufacturers Association and locked it.

When the officer approached and asked for her driving licence, Bashisha allegedly resorted to intimidation and physically assaulted him.

In an alarming turn of events, she also took the officer’s police EPS gadget and two mobile phones belonging to him.Mercy Timbitiwire Bashisha is currently in detention as investigations into this incident are underway. The police are treating this matter seriously to ensure safety on the roads.

“A traffic officer on duty at MUBS intercepted, the driver of vehicle UBM 439T T/Landcruiser, Mercy Timbitwire Bashisha for using her phone while driving. Despite repeated instructions to stop, the driver refused and continued driving to Lugogo traffic lights, where the officer pursued and stopped her again. She then proceeded to UMA, where she and her other friend allegedly assaulted the officer, seizing his phones and a police EPS gadget printer”. Said Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke.

Police in Kampala have confirmed the arrest of a woman identified as Mercy Timbitwire Bashiha who was captured on video assaulting a traffic police officer. According to a viral video clip making rounds on social media, the woman, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was involved in a confrontation with the officer following an argument with the latter. The incident reportedly occurred after the officer tried to stop her for driving while using her phone.

The two ladies have been charged and are currently detained pending court proceedings.adds Rusoke.In the video clip, during the argument, she began recording the officer, and when he tried to take the her phone away, she slapped him.

Following the video’s circulation, many social media users called for her arrest over what they said was “unacceptable” behavior.
